What is Java - to answer this question is difficult, because the
boundaries of Java, the already blurry, all the time increasing. First,
Java was designed for programming consumer electronic devices such as
phones. Then Java was used for programming the browser - appeared
applets. Then it turned out that in Java you can create full
application. These graphic elements are provided in a component -
appeared JavaBeans, which Java entered the world of distributed systems
and middleware software, is closely related to technology CORBA. There
was one small step to the programming servers - this step was taken -
there were servlets and EJB (Enterprise JavaBeans). Servers have to
interact with databases - there were drivers for JDBC (Java DataBase
Connection). The interaction proved to be successful, and many database
management systems and even operating systems including Java in its
core, such as Oracle, Linux, MacOS X, AIX. Even a company like
Microsoft, always sensitive to the inclusion in their products to
third-party components firms, was forced to include in their OS virtual
machine Java. What is not covered? Name, and six months later you hear
that Java is already used and there. Because of the fuzziness of the
concept to describe the same vague word - technology.
Such rapid and widespread distribution of Java technology,
not least due to the fact that it uses a new, specially designed
programming language, which is called - the language of Java. This
language was created based on the language Smalltalk, Pascal, C++ and
others, having absorbed their best, according to the creators, features
and discarding the worst. On this point there are different opinions,
but it is indisputable that the language has turned out useful for the
study, written on it the program is easy to read and debug: first
program can be written in just one hour after the start of the study of
language. The Java language is the language of learning object-oriented
programming, as well as language Pascal was the language of teaching
structured programming. Not for nothing is written in Java has a huge
number of programs, class libraries and applets, because, in my
opinion, is already almost all occasions.
